My name is Denis and I am 30. On the 23rd of April 2006, while I was high on drugs and walking along the Promenade in Haifa, having a telephone conversation with someone, a Christian fellow approached me. I’d never seen him before. He greeted me with: — “Hi! How are you? He also asked me if I attended any church?” — It was in this manner that he began our conversation. — I answered with a cold No! Actually i thought that this man was a little bit crazy. I also thought: “Why do this man asks me this question?”. — OK. — he told me and kept walking away. Precisely 7 days after that encounter with this stranger, I found myself attending church, at Living Israel rehab center. There I met Christ for first time. After some time I remembered this man on the street and understood that at all times everything is in God’s hands and that everything that happens to us is in accordance with His perfect will. Today I serve God in this rehabilitation center. I’m always aware of God’s help, am happy and thankful for His salvation. During all of the lawless times in my life I was never caught or punished by the law. But I was always in constant fear that I might get caught and punished. Now God has changed everything and being in courts is part of my service at the rehab center. I’m in court as a representative of my brothers and sisters from the rehab center trying to extricate as many of them as possible from the penalties of their wrong doings in their previously lawless lives. It brings me great joy to do so. I never cease thanking God for His mercy and love. He has changed my life and holds it in His hands.
