In 2003, came our first small group, five drug addicts that moved into a flat. The concept of a drug rehabilitation was tested successfully. Today, the center hosts them at the Saint George Monastery on Mount Carmel in Haifa, more than 60 former drug and alcohol addicts reside there. Many of those who finished successfully the rehabilitation program and have become believers serve others who still have to pass their rehabilitation. At the same time they work in order to earn a living and share their income with the center. Their life style is a living testimony of the Lords power in touching people's hearts and renewing lives completely. These success stories spread quickly in the country, which leads to an increasing number of people that stand in line to be accepted for rehabilitation.
Vladimir Krutchkov is founder of this work and carries the vision for it, "these people shall feel that there is realistic hope in Christ Jesus. This hope allows them to start from scratch no matter how dark their personal history looks like. Many of them are Russian speaking new immigrants. They havent manage to integrate successfully into Israeli society. They shall however experience practically how much they are loved by us and by God. They shall experience how much they are needed to build a Israeli society, such as every other Israeli does here.” |
